It’s been about a month since my last update. A lot of things have changed since then with the direction I’m taking in my life. I resigned from my full-time job, enrolled in university again and took on a new job in a new work environment. Since I have more time, I have spent it…wasting away. Well, no. I just went into the routine of catching up on the video games on my back burner. I didn’t read or learn other things as much as I wished, but that’s fine; I still have more time than I had before anyway.
I honestly never thought I was going back to university. I believed tertiary studies weren’t ever going to be useful to me given the type of career life I want to lead, however my particular course just resonated with me for some reason. Although I must say I’m purely going back to studies for extensive learning and growth of knowledge. I don’t like the idea of going to university just to generate a degree that says “you did it!” and go straight into the corpo workforce. The whole university system and professional workforce system here is honestly kinda backwards and gives false hope to people that think they’re gonna make it big. Nobody is believing in the system anymore and it shows. The requirements to be accepted for tertiary courses here have dropped across the board. The minimum acceptance score has reduced a considerable amount in the last 10 years and it is continuing to decline because less people are going to university. I believe university should be an oasis of learning rather than a machine that spits out entry-level workers for the corporate workforce. However, I digress: honestly the way this situation occurred is one of the more favourable outcomes that could have happened - there is nothing much we can do to improve it now besides pumping our national wealth tenfold, somehow.
I also began learning Mandarin Chinese again. I thought it would be a productive way for me to fill the blank spaces of time I sometimes have throughout my day. It’s useful and honestly quite fun to learn.
Anyway, I decided to populate my bookshelf and videogame list with more titles - without reviews however. I will write the reviews eventually.
